I’m an avid blog reader but not much on the writing side, so forgive the low entertainment value here.  It’s Friday, it’s pay day, I get to leave early due to a volunteer obligation.  (It’s hard for work to argue with helping the elderly.)

Here’s a short summation of my life as a baseline for future posts:

1.  Job - coming up on the 5th anniversary at my current company.  (This is relatively impressive as we’ve had eight rounds of lay-offs since I’ve been here.)  Not enjoying it for a variety of reasons including the culture, my boss, the work, etc.  I’ve decided to ride this horse for another year of debt-elimination.  After that,  I’m going to take a year off or find something more creative and fulfilling to do.

2.  House - I bought a house last September.  It’s neat, but it’s shackling me to the job I’m not enjoying. 

3.  Relationships - I’ve got good friends and a great boyfriend. 

4.  Health - Quit smoking!  However, I gained back all the weight I lost last year and added a few.  I’m trying to make bikram yoga more regular and get back into more activities.  Business travel doesn’t help with that, but I’ve a sneaking suspicion that’s more of an excuse than anything.
